The Minarets Mustangs (O'Neals, CA) football nudged the visiting Sierra Chieftains (Tollhouse, CA), 14-12 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Mustangs clash with the Mariposa County Grizzlies (Mariposa, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, August 25. Minarets will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Grizzlies enter the bout with a 0-1 record after their 22-6 non-league loss to Yosemite (Oakhurst, CA).
