The Corvian Community Cardinals football squad scored 29 points and restricted the visiting Covenant Day Lions to 27 in the Cardinals non-league victory on Saturday.

The Cardinals now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Gaston for a non-league battle on Friday, August 25. Corvian Community will play a Warriors squad coming off a 29-14 non-league win over North Gaston (Dallas, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 1-0.

Coming up next, the Lions play the Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) in a non-league battle, on Friday, August 25. Covenant Day will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Gryphons enter the battle with a 0-1 record after their 50-0 non-league loss to West Iredell (Statesville, NC).
