North Carolina High School Football - McDowell nips R-S Central

August 20, 2021: Marion, NC 28752

In Friday's non-league match, the host McDowell Titans football squad scored a close 20-14 victory over the R-S Central Hilltoppers.

In their next game, the Titans clash with the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 27. McDowell will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Mountaineers enter the match with a 1-0 record after their 47-7 non-league win over Erwin (Asheville, NC).

The Hilltoppers (0-1) will now prepare for their match against West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC). The Warriors enter the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, West Caldwell was nudged by South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 18-7, in a non-league match.
