Georgia High School Softball - Colquitt County bounces Cairo
August 20, 2025: Norman Park, GA 31771 The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Colquitt County Packers (Norman Park, GA) and the visiting Cairo Syrupmakers (Cairo, GA), saw Colquitt County's softball squad beat Cairo by a score of 10-1.
With the triumph, Colquitt County improves its record to 3-5 on the year. The Packers travel to Richmond Hill (Richmond Hill, GA) to battle the Wildcats in a 6A Region 1 bout on Tuesday, August 26. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 3-1. Richmond Hill won 8-7 in their recent non-league bout against Statesboro (Statesboro, GA)
The Syrupmakers now hold a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Monroe for a 3A Region 1 contest on Thursday, August 21. Cairo will face a Golden Tornadoes squad coming off a 15-0 league loss to Bainbridge (Bainbridge, GA). The Golden Tornadoes record now stands at 2-2.
