Spectators at Thursday's non-league battle between the River Valley Vikings (Caledonia, OH) and the host Elgin Comets (Marion, OH), saw River Valley's football team gain a win over Elgin by a final score of 42-15.

With the win, River Valley advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Vikings host Madison Comprehensive (Mansfield, OH) to play the Rams in a non-league battle on Friday, August 29. The Rams go into the battle with a record of 0-1. Madison Comprehensive lost 56-14 in their recent non-league battle against Shelby (Shelby, OH)

The Comets now own a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ridgedale for a Northwest Central match on Friday, August 29. Elgin will confront a Rockets squad coming off a 28-14 non-league win over Hilltop (West Unity, OH). The Rockets record now stands at 1-0.
