August 21, 2025: Munster, IN 46321 In Thursday's non-league match, the La Porte Slicers (La Porte, IN) volleyball squad prevailed the host Munster Mustangs (Munster, IN), by a count of 3-0.
Next up, the Slicers confront the Chesterton Trojans (Chesterton, IN) in a match, on Tuesday, August 26. La Porte will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 3-2 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Crown Point (Crown Point, IN).
The Mustangs (0-3) will now prepare for their match against Lake Central (St. John, IN). The Indians enter the non-league match with a 4-2 record.
Match Summary
Munster came out ready to compete. Mel O’ Connor (Fr.) came out strong offensively and defensively for Munster.
Spreading the offense around and creating plays was handled by Taylor Pumphrey (Fr.) and Jasmina (Jr.). Munster battled hard. Libero Leah Selin (Jr.) was all over the court defensively. Elia Moore (Jr.) also came up big in the backrow defensively and offensively. This is a young team starting their first year together as a team that continue to show their growth. LaPorte was dominate and took on the challenge with Evelyn Shirk (Fr.) leading the her team offensively. Defensively LaPorte was able to keep the ball up enough to generate offensively against Munster.
