North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), 35-6 in a non-league battle.

With the win, North Stanly advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Comets host East Rowan (Salisbury, NC) to play the Mustangs in a non-league battle on Thursday, August 29. The Mustangs go into the battle with a record of 1-0. East Rowan won 28-6 in their recent non-league battle against North Rowan (Spencer, NC)

The Bearcats now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Sun Valley for a non-league battle on Thursday, August 29. Anson will play a Spartans team coming off a 24-2 non-league win over Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 1-0.
