August 22, 2025: Waubay, SD 57273 Elkton/Lake Benton Elks (Elkton, SD) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Waubay/Summit Mustangs (Waubay, SD), 59-8 in a non-league battle.
The Elks (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Viborg/Hurley (Viborg, SD). The Cougars come into the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Viborg/Hurley routed Canistota (Canistota, SD), 50-0, in a league match.
Coming up next, the Mustangs confront the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers (Watertown, SD) in a Eastern Coteau (9 Man) match, on Friday, August 29. Waubay/Summit will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Panthers go into the battle with a 1-0 record after their 28-6 league win over Waverly/South Shore (Waverly, SD).
