The Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) football knocked off the host Union County Panthers (Blairsville, GA), 42-20 in Friday's non-league contest.

The Bobcats (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Pickens (Jasper, GA). The Dragons enter the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Pickens gained a win over Sonoraville (Calhoun, GA), 34-14, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Panthers battle the Fannin County Rebels (Blue Ridge, GA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, August 29. Union County will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Rebels enter the contest with a 0-2 record after their 35-0 non-league loss to Rabun County (Tiger, GA).
