The Golden Valley Cougars football team (Merced, CA), was topped 48-26 in Friday's non-league bout with the host Ripon Indians (Ripon, CA)

The Indians (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Enochs (Modesto, CA). The Eagles enter the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Enochs thwarted Sierra (Manteca, CA), 61-55, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Cougars confront the Tokay Tigers (Lodi, CA) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 29. Golden Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 1-0 record after their 13-7 non-league win over Lodi (Lodi, CA).
