In Friday's non-league match, the host Hurricane Tigers football squad scored a close 35-28 triumph over the Moapa Valley Pirates.

The Tigers (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Murray (Murray, UT). The Spartans come into the non-league match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, Murray tipped Taylorsville (Taylorsville, UT), 26-13, in a non-league match.

Next up, the Pirates play the Canyon View Falcons (Cedar City, UT) in a non-league battle, on Friday, August 29. Moapa Valley will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Falcons go into the battle with a 1-1 record after their 27-13 non-league loss to Dixie (St. George, UT).
