In Friday's non-league game, the McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA) football team overcame the visiting River Valley Falcons (Yuba City, CA), by a tally of 26-6.

In their next game, the Lions face the Davis Sr. Blue Devils (Davis, CA) in a non-league game, on Friday, August 29. McClatchy will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Blue Devils enter the game with a 0-1 record after their 42-13 non-league loss to Pioneer (Woodland, CA).
