Spectators at Friday's non-league bout between the Shamokin Area Indians (Coal Township, PA) and the host Pottsville Crimson Tide (Pottsville, PA), witnessed Shamokin Area's football squad knock off Pottsville by a tally of 34-14.

The Indians (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Lake-Lehman (Lehman, PA). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Lake-Lehman was outscored by Berwick (Berwick, PA), 24-7, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Crimson Tide encounter the Jim Thorpe Olympians (Jim Thorpe, PA) in a Colonial-Schuylkill - A bout, on Friday, August 29. Pottsville will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Olympians go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 28-14 non-league win over Palmerton (Palmerton, PA).
