The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Crete Cardinals (Crete, NE) and the visiting Auburn Bulldogs (Auburn, NE), observed Crete's softball squad nip Auburn by a score of 9-3.

With the triumph, Crete improves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Cardinals host Norris (Firth, NE) to face the Titans in a B District 5 contest on Tuesday, August 26. The Titans enter the contest with a record of 3-1. Norris won 10-0 in their recent non-league contest against Gering (Gering, NE)

The Bulldogs now hold a 1-3 record. They play next when they host Wilber-Clatonia for a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 26. Auburn will battle a Wolverines team coming off a 6-4 non-league win over St. Paul (St. Paul, NE). The Wolverines record now stands at 2-1.
