Avon Eagles (Avon, OH) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host St. Ignatius Wildcats (Cleveland, OH), 42-21 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Avon improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Eagles host McKinley (Canton, OH) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league battle on Friday, August 30. The Bulldogs go into the battle with a record of 1-0. McKinley won 26-19 in their recent non-league battle against Harding (Warren, OH)

The Wildcats now have a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Mentor for a non-league battle on Friday, August 30. St. Ignatius will play a Cardinals team coming off a 36-13 non-league win over Jackson (Massillon, OH). The Cardinals record now stands at 1-0.
