In Friday's non-league match, the host Central Crossing Comets football squad scored a close 29-22 triumph over the Independence 76ers.

The Comets (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Northland (Columbus, OH). The Vikings come into the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Northland was nudged by Walnut Ridge (Columbus, OH), 8-6, in a non-league match.
