The Downey Vikings (Downey, CA) football knocked off the visiting Notre Dame (SO) Knights (Sherman Oaks, CA), 42-21 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Vikings now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Orange Vista for a non-league outing on Friday, August 30. Downey will clash with a Coyotes squad coming off a 20-17 non-league win over Apple Valley (Apple Valley, CA). The Coyotes record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, Notre Dame (SO) drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Knights host Bishop Diego (Santa Barbara, CA) to clash with the Cardinals in a non-league outing on Friday, August 30. The Cardinals come into the outing with a record of 1-0. Bishop Diego won 34-13 in their recent non-league outing against Salesian (Los Angeles, CA)
