The R-S Central Hilltoppers got by the visiting McDowell Titans football team by a score of 41-38 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Hilltoppers face the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 30. R-S Central will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Spartans go into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 46-14 non-league win over West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC).

The Titans (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Mountaineers go into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Mitchell was edged by Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC), 28-14, in a non-league challenge.
