The Sanford Mustangs volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the host Gunnison Cowboys to 1 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Mustangs now have a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Monte Vista for a 2A Southern Peaks outing on Thursday, August 28. Sanford will confront a Pirates squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over La Junta (La Junta, CO). The Pirates record now stands at 2-1.

The Cowboys (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Coal Ridge (New Castle, CO). The Titans go into the 3A Western Slope game with a 3-1 record.
