In Thursday's non-league contest, the Laurens Academy Crusaders (Laurens, SC) volleyball squad edged the host Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC), by a margin of 3-2.

Next up, the Crusaders battle the Hillcrest Rams (Simpsonville, SC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, August 31. Laurens Academy will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record.
