In Thursday's non-league game, the Newcastle Bobcats (Newcastle, TX) football team knocked off the visiting Ranger Bulldogs (Ranger, TX), by a final score of 72-45.

The Bobcats (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Woodson (Woodson, TX). The Cowboys come into the non-league game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Woodson toppled Panther Creek (Valera, TX), 33-12, in a non-league game.

The Bulldogs now hold a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gordon for a non-league game on Friday, September 2. Ranger will battle a Longhorns team coming off a 49-0 non-league win over Throckmorton (Throckmorton, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 1-0.
