The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) and the visiting Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC), observed Draughn's football squad bounce Patton by a count of 49-6.

The Wildcats now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they host East Burke for a non-league contest on Friday, September 1. Draughn will encounter a Cavaliers squad coming off a 29-13 non-league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 2-0.

Coming up next, the Panthers encounter the Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 1. Patton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 20-13 non-league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).
