The Texas City Stingarees football squad scored 23 points and restricted the host Friendswood Mustangs to 20 in the Stingarees non-league victory on Friday.

The Stingarees now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ball for a non-league battle on Thursday, August 31. Texas City will play a Tornadoes squad coming off a 58-6 non-league win over La Marque (La Marque, TX). The Tornadoes record now stands at 1-0.

Coming up next, the Mustangs play the Fort Bend Willowridge Eagles (Houston, TX) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 1. Friendswood will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record.
