The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears (Fairmont, WV) and the visiting Lewis County Minutemen (Weston, WV), observed Fairmont Senior's football squad bounce Lewis County by a count of 42-6.

The Polar Bears now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Linsly for a non-league contest on Friday, September 2. Fairmont Senior will encounter a Cadets squad coming off a 43-0 non-league win over Imani Christian Academy (Pittsburgh, PA). The Cadets record now stands at 1-0.

Coming up next, the Minutemen encounter the Braxton County Eagles (Sutton, WV) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 2. Lewis County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 68-20 non-league loss to Lincoln (Shinnston, WV).
