Virginia High School Football - Fort Chiswell knocked off by Rural Retreat

August 26, 2022: Max Meadows, VA 24360

Rural Retreat Indians (Rural Retreat, VA) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), 27-9 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Rural Retreat improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Indians host Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA) to battle the Mustangs in a non-league test on Thursday, September 1. The Mustangs come into the test with a record of 0-1. Eastern Montgomery lost 21-0 in their recent non-league test against Holston (Damascus, VA)

With the loss, Fort Chiswell drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to battle the Maroons in a Mountain Empire test on Friday, September 2. The Maroons come into the test with a record of 0-1. George Wythe lost 29-15 in their recent non-league test against Radford (Radford, VA)
