The Rio Linda Knights (Rio Linda, CA) football nudged the host Kennedy Cougars (Sacramento, CA), 12-6 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Knights face the Cordova Lancers (Rancho Cordova, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 2. Rio Linda will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Lancers enter the bout with a 0-2 record after their 41-0 non-league loss to El Camino (Sacramento, CA).

The Cougars (0-2) will now prepare for their bout against Tokay (Lodi, CA). The Tigers enter the non-league bout with a 2-0 record. In their last bout, Tokay held off Bear Creek (Stockton, CA), 23-6, in a non-league bout.
