In Friday's non-league game, the West Scranton Invaders (Scranton, PA) football team were victorious over the host Riverside Vikings (Taylor, PA), by a score of 27-17.

The Invaders (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Scranton Prep (Scranton, PA). The Cavaliers come into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Scranton Prep was knocked off by Lakeland (Jermyn, PA), 41-14, in a non-league game.

The Vikings now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mid Valley for a non-league game on Friday, September 2. Riverside will battle a Spartans team coming off a 21-13 non-league loss to Lackawanna Trail (Factoryville, PA). The Spartans record now stands at 0-1.
