The Kennedy Cougars football team (Cedar Rapids, IA), was beaten 38-21 in Saturday's non-league challenge with the visiting Dowling Catholic Maroons (West Des Moines, IA)

The Maroons (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Valley (West Des Moines, IA). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Valley was beaten by Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA), 24-18, in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pleasant Valley for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 1. Kennedy will meet a Spartans team coming off a 30-10 non-league loss to Bettendorf (Bettendorf, IA). The Spartans record now stands at 0-1.
