Illinois High School Soccer - Moline nudges Hononegah
August 26, 2023: Rockton, IL 61072 Moline Maroons (Moline, IL) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Hononegah Indians (Rockton, IL), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Maroons face the Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL) in a Western Big 6 challenge, on Tuesday, August 29. Moline will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Golden Warriors enter the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to Woodstock (Woodstock, IL).
The Indians now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Jefferson for a Northern Illinois NIC-10 challenge on Tuesday, August 29. Hononegah will face a J-Hawks team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Lake Park (Roselle, IL). The J-Hawks record now stands at 0-2.
