August 26, 2023: Laurel, MS 39443 In Saturday's non-league contest, the Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS) volleyball squad nudged the host West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS), by a margin of 2-1.
Next up, the Pirates battle the Oak Grove Warriors (Hattiesburg, MS) in a Class 7 Region 3 contest, on Tuesday, August 29. Pearl will attempt to better on its 2-12 season record. The Warriors go into the contest with a 10-5 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Presbyterian Christian (Hattiesburg, MS).
With the loss, West Jones moves to 5-10 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Jim Hill (Jackson, MS) to battle the Tigers in a Class 6 Region 3 contest on Thursday, August 31. The Tigers go into the contest with a record of 8-6.
