Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) fans left the game satisfied Friday as they observed their football team nudge the host A.C. Reynolds Rockets (Asheville, NC), 15-12 in a non-league test.

With the win, Shelby improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Golden Lions host Crest (Shelby, NC) to confront the Chargers in a non-league test on Friday, September 3. The Chargers go into the test with a record of 0-1. Crest lost 21-20 in their recent non-league test against Burns (Lawndale, NC)

With the loss, A.C. Reynolds moves to 0-2 on the season. The Rockets host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to confront the Cougars in a non-league test on Friday, September 3. The Cougars go into the test with a record of 2-0. Alexander Central won 41-6 in their recent non-league test against North Gaston (Dallas, NC)
