The Newark Catholic Green Wave (Newark, OH) football defeated the host Nelsonville-York Buckeyes (Nelsonville, OH), 38-14 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Green Wave face the Columbus Academy Vikings (Gahanna, OH) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 3. Newark Catholic will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Vikings enter the bout with a 1-1 record after their 33-6 league win over KIPP Columbus (Columbus, OH).

The Buckeyes (0-2) will now prepare for their bout against Liberty Union (Baltimore, OH). The Lions enter the non-league bout with a 1-1 record. In their last bout, Liberty Union defeated Lakewood (Hebron, OH), 37-0, in a non-league bout.
