The Taft Raiders thwarted the host Seguin Matadors football team by a count of 37-18 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Taft upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Raiders host Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX) to encounter the Patriots in a non-league outing on Saturday, September 4. The Patriots go into the outing with a record of 1-0. Veterans Memorial won 55-20 in their recent non-league outing against Del Rio (Del Rio, TX)

With the loss, Seguin moves to 0-1 on the season. The Matadors host New Braunfels (New Braunfels, TX) to encounter the Unicorns in a non-league outing on Friday, September 3. The Unicorns go into the outing with a record of 1-0. New Braunfels won 49-30 in their recent non-league outing against San Marcos (San Marcos, TX)
