In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Ridgemont Golden Gophers volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Vanlue Wildcats.

The Golden Gophers (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Temple Christian (Lima, OH). The Pioneers come into the Northwest Central battle with a 5-0 record.
