Kentucky High School Soccer - Wayne County overwhelmed by Whitley County
August 28, 2023: Monticello, KY 42633 The crowd at Monday's non-league test between the Whitley County Colonels (Williamsburg, KY) and the host Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY), saw Whitley County's soccer squad beat Wayne County by a margin of 7-3.
The Colonels now sport a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Lexington Catholic for a non-league test on Saturday, September 2.
With the loss, Wayne County drops to 2-4 on the season. The Cardinals host Knox Central (Barbourville, KY) to meet the Panthers in a non-league test on Tuesday, August 29. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 0-3. Knox Central lost 10-0 in their recent league test against Middlesboro (Middlesboro, KY)
