Michigan High School Football - Merritt Academy falls to Bad Axe
August 28, 2025: New Haven, MI 48048 The Bad Axe Hatchets felled the host Merritt Academy Mustangs football squad by a margin of 56-38 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Hatchets now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Mayville for a Big Thumb - Blue (8 Man) test on Friday, September 5. Bad Axe will face a Wildcats team coming off a 16-14 non-league loss to Peck (Peck, MI). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-1.
The Mustangs (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Peck (Peck, MI). The Pirates enter the Big Thumb - Red (8 Man) game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Peck ran past Mayville (Mayville, MI), 16-14, in a non-league game.
