In Thursday's non-league game, the Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) football team were victorious over the host Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL), by a score of 51-41.

The Senators now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host MacArthur for a non-league outing on Friday, September 5. Springfield will clash with a Generals squad coming off a 20-0 non-league win over Mattoon (Mattoon, IL). The Generals record now stands at 1-0.
