In Thursday's non-league match, the host River Rouge Panthers football squad scored a close 13-7 triumph over the Glenn Rockets.

The Panthers (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Mona Shores (Norton Shores, MI). The Sailors go into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Mona Shores was tipped by Grand Blanc (Grand Blanc, MI), 35-20, in a non-league battle.
