West Milford Highlanders (West Milford, NJ) boosters were happy Thursday as they witnessed their football squad topple the visiting Paramus Spartans (Paramus, NJ), 44-13 in a non-league battle.

With the win, West Milford advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Highlanders host Jefferson Township (Oak Ridge, NJ) to play the Falcons in a Super - Patriot Red battle on Friday, September 5. The Falcons go into the battle with a record of 0-1. Jefferson Township lost 35-17 in their recent non-league match against High Point (Sussex, NJ)

Coming up next, the Spartans confront the Bergenfield Bears (Bergenfield, NJ) in a Super - Patriot Blue match, on Saturday, September 6. Paramus will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Bears come into the match with a 0-1 record after their 14-6 non-league loss to New Milford (New Milford, NJ).
