Port Huron Northern Huskies (Port Huron, MI) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team tip the host Thurston Eagles (Redford, MI), 13-6 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Port Huron Northern advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Huskies travel to Lamphere (Madison Heights, MI) to play the Rams in a non-league match on Friday, September 5. The Rams come into the match with a record of 1-0. Lamphere won 17-14 in their recent non-league match against Ferndale (Ferndale, MI)

Coming up next, the Eagles meet the Crestwood Chargers (Dearborn Heights, MI) in a Western Wayne match, on Friday, September 5. Thurston will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Chargers come into the match with a 0-1 record after their 18-7 non-league loss to Dearborn (Dearborn, MI).
