August 28, 2025: Taylorsville, NC 28681 The Hickory Red Tornadoes edged the host Alexander Central Cougars football team by a score of 26-20 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Red Tornadoes face the Bunker Hill Bears (Claremont, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 4. Hickory will attempt to improve on its 2-0 season record. The Bears enter the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 26-14 non-league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).
The Cougars (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies enter the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Ashe County was edged by Watauga (Boone, NC), 46-14, in a non-league challenge.
