August 28, 2025: Southern Pines, NC 28387 The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) and the visiting Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), witnessed Pinecrest's football squad knock off Union Pines by a tally of 42-20.
The Patriots (2-0) will now prepare for their bout against Davie County (Mocksville, NC). The War Eagles go into the non-league bout with a 2-0 record. In their last bout, Davie County beat West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC), 41-0, in a non-league bout.
The Vikings now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Eastern Randolph for a non-league bout on Thursday, September 4. Union Pines will encounter a Wildcats team coming off a 14-6 non-league win over Randleman (Randleman, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-0.
