Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Meridian Hawks (Macon, IL) and the visiting Unity Christian Lions (Decatur, IL), saw Meridian's volleyball squad nudge Unity Christian by a score of 2-1.

With the win, Meridian improves its record to 1-1 on the season. The Hawks host Monticello (Monticello, IL) to encounter the Sages in a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 2. The Sages go into the battle with a record of 1-0. Monticello won 2-0 in their recent non-league contest against Argenta-Oreana (Argenta, IL)
