North Carolina High School Soccer - University Christian toppled by Gaston Day
August 28, 2025: Hickory, NC 28601 Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC) boosters exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host University Christian Barracudas (Hickory, NC), 9-0 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Gaston Day moves its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Gaston Christian (Gastonia, NC) to clash with the Eagles in a NCISAA Metrolina test on Friday, August 29. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 2-3. Gaston Christian won 9-2 in their recent league test against Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC)
The Barracudas now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Bandys for a non-league test on Friday, August 29. University Christian will clash with a Trojans team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Grace Academy (Matthews, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 3-1.
