Georgia High School Softball - Fitzgerald drops to Brantley County
August 28, 2025: Fitzgerald, GA 31750 Brantley County Herons (Nahunta, GA) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad topple the host Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (Fitzgerald, GA), 15-0 in a league game.
With the triumph, Brantley County improves its record to 5-4 on the year. The Herons host Coffee (Douglas, GA) to battle the Trojans in a non-league match on Tuesday, September 2. The Trojans go into the match with a record of 7-4. Coffee lost 4-1 in their recent league match against Houston County (Warner Robins, GA)
In their next game, the Purple Hurricane battle the Bacon County Raiders (Alma, GA) in a 1A D-I Region 1 match, on Tuesday, September 2. Fitzgerald will attempt to better on its 2-9 season record. The Raiders enter the game with a 8-0 record after their 2-1 league win over Berrien (Nashville, GA).
