The Van Vandals edged the host Independence Knights volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league game.

Next up, the Vandals confront the Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, August 29. Van will attempt to better on its 12-4 season record. The Panthers come into the outing with a 11-4 record after their 2-0 non-league win over New Waverly (New Waverly, TX).

With the loss, Independence drops to 6-4 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Wills Point (Wills Point, TX) to play the Tigers in a non-league outing on Saturday, August 30.
