In Thursday's non-league game, the Houston Mustangs (Germantown, TN) football team overcame the host DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS), by a tally of 38-21.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Germantown Red Devils (Germantown, TN) in a 6A Region 8 game, on Friday, September 6. Houston will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record. The Red Devils enter the game with a 2-0 record after their 21-14 non-league win over South Panola (Batesville, MS).

With the defeat, DeSoto Central drops to 1-1 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Lake Cormorant (Lake Cormorant, MS) to meet the in a non-league test on Friday, September 6. The come into the test with a record of 1-0. Lake Cormorant won 47-10 in their recent non-league test against Lewisburg (Olive Branch, MS)
