Mountain Pointe Pride (Phoenix, AZ) followers went home pleased Thursday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ), 45-6 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Mountain Pointe advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Pride travel to Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, CA) to encounter the Dons in a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. The Dons go into the battle with a record of 2-0. Cathedral Catholic won 34-13 in their recent non-league battle against Chaminade (West Hills, CA)

The Monsoon now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Red Mountain for a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. Valley Vista will encounter a Mountain Lions team coming off a 42-10 non-league win over Mesa (Mesa, AZ). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 1-0.
