August 29, 2024: Rutherfordton, NC 28139 The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) and the host R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), witnessed South Caldwell's football squad knock off R-S Central by a tally of 24-14.
The Spartans (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC). The Greyhounds enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, North Surry was toppled by Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC), 22-6, in a non-league contest.
