In Friday's non-league game, the Minerva Lions (Minerva, OH) football squad knocked off the visiting Crestwood Red Devils (Mantua, OH), by a margin of 23-8.

The Lions now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Springfield for a non-league outing on Friday, September 5. Minerva will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 44-6 non-league loss to Rootstown (Rootstown, OH). The Spartans record now stands at 1-1.
